June 8, 1978 In the morning it was foggy to see very much of anything so that a long distance hike was not possible. We drove Bongo around to nearby sights and stayed in Ballarat.
June 9, 1978 We traveled to Geelong. That night we ate at Taco Bills and later listened to enjoyable folk singers at a downtown hotel. We stayed at a Torquay park.

June 10, 1978 While Paul was still asleep I drove Bongo down the Great Ocean Road. We saw Erskine Falls near Lorne, Apollo Bay and then north to the Beech Forest. We then drove back to the coast, this section being dramatically different from what we had seen in the morning. We could see the effect of wind and water on the rugged crumbling coastline. At a ‘blow hole’ we observed the action of the waves creating a large hole in the coast wall.
