July 14, 1978 Paul had a short 3 minute interview with a studio photographer. We bought several boxes of tortillas for Tres Amigos, said goodby to Robin and took off for Lakes.
After bidding Paul farewell I caught a ride with Phil and Dinish north along the coast to Sues farm, 30 miles inland from Eden. Sue, a roommate of Phils, owned the station with her brothers. The house was heated by a fireplace and an outhouse 50 yards away served as a toilet.

July 15, 1978 I woke up to see the ground covered with frost. The veranda, exposed to the sun, was warm. Sue gave us a tour of the station before putting us to work. Dinish and I nailed in planks of the floor of a great cabin she was building. It would not soon be finished. She was quitting her job shortly and traveling to England.
I caught a ride in the afternoon to Eden because my bus was coming thru that night. I passed time on the slot machines and at a local hotel until it closed at 10 PM. Two Aussie fishermen, Steve & Mark, invited me to their flat to wait for my 1:30 AM bus. They were very drunk and did not remember anything I told them. They told me that Aussie fishing was good pay and their captain furnished them with all the drugs they wanted. Steve told me they hated Yanks, but I wasn’t so bad considering I was the first Yank they had ever met.
