Oct 11, 1989 Soon after awakening at 6:00 AM, I saw a truck drive up to the hostel. The driver called for Jeff, one of the other men in the bunkroom. I tried to awaken a very drunk Jeff, but was unsuccessful. I took a school bus to Nimbin. Along the way the bus driver delivered magazines, mail, and newspapers and picked up school children and a few adults. I was not charged for the 50 kilometer ride.
At Nimbin I stayed at "The Farm", a youth hostel, just outside of Nimbin. Christine, a Belgium woman who was leaving, recommended I see Nimbin Rock. I walked and hitched to the Rock. The town of Nimbin seemed to be a small town of hippies out of the Sixties.
Early the next morning I was asked by the German girlfriend of my German roommate to remove a tick from his rear end. I managed to get the entire bug out. Later in the day I went to the Tuntable Commune and Tuntable Falls. The major causes of the local people were the environment and legalized pot.
