On Sunday I went on a botany tour to the Southwest Range with several Tasmanians and a couple of German students. The Environmental Centre guide, Dave Ziegler, left me and my backpack at Mt. Anne. I hiked to the hut just below Mt. Eliza.
The next day I left the pack in the hut and did a day hike to Mt. Anne. The route was very difficult with many boulders and steep trails. I hiked back to the gravel road to catch a lift, but no vehicles. I camped at Condo Creek.
In the morning I started walking and didn't stop until I walked 12 miles to the paved Gordon River Road. An hour later I got a lift to Field National Park and stayed at hostel. Also there were 3 Germans, a Scot, and Sarah from USA.
