May 4, 1993 Met for 1 & 1/2 hours with Dr. Yotov in afternoon. From conversations I realized his knowledge of pricing is 20 to 30 years behind the times. Also he has little in resources for data.
He, as well as the others in Bulgaria, still relied on actuarial commutation tables to perform calculations. With the power and affordability of computers, especially PC's, it was easier and more flexible to work from first principles rather than outdated commutation tables.

May 5-7, 1993 For first two days I worked on product development presentation at the apartment. The last day, at the apartment with Albena, Krasi, and Sasha, we went through the product development material.

Niki, the advertising man for BG Plan developed some very flashy advertisements, cards, brochures, etc for the company. See below left.
The state insurance company, DZI, I had thought would have very conservative advertising. But that did not seem to be the case. The advertisement to the below right is for "family" insurance. Likely an unconventional family.
