June 16, 1993 I arrived in Zilina at 5 AM. Later in the morning I exchanged money at the CKM office, and got information on the Mala Fatra mountains. Took a bus to nearby Vratna. With Matt, an American on vacation, hiked up a steep path to Chata Grun. I carried my whole backpack, which included laptop computer and other useless dead weight.
