May 3, 2014 In the morning I was greeted in the street by Olivier, who I had not seen since France. We had breakfast together.
In the afternoon I met Mary and Bernie at the Leon train station. We stayed the night at Santa Maria de Carbajal convent. Crowded dorms and so so food.

May 4, 2014 We walked thru the Leon suburbs and out into the country. We got to San Martin del Camino and stayed at Albergue Vietro. My shinsplint seems to have healed.
We ate dinner with a Netherlands woman who was walking the camino after being treated for cancer. At the end of dinner I felt sick and almost threwup.

May 5, 2014 On a warm day we walked first to Puente de Orbigo and had a coffee break. Very nice 13th century bridge. We continued on to Astorga. Stayed at the large municipal albergue. I had lost my appetite and felt ill.
