Camino de Santiago: Le Mas d'Azil to Portet d'Aspet

Tree-lined road

October 31, 2019 I left at 6 AM because I had a walk of 27 kilometers and I wanted to be sure to get to St Lizier tourist office before 5 PM. It rained off and on until 11 AM. Soon out of Mas d'Azil the road D119 went thru a long tunnel, where an old grotto is located. It is a main tourist attraction for the area.

About 2 kilometers from St Lizier I met the 3 French pilgrim's, 2 men and a woman. We walked to the tourist office and checked into the refuge. We shared beers and cooked our dinner there. The two men were soldiers in the French foreign legion.
