France Walk - St Foy le Grande to Captieux

September 27, 2017 Mary, Bernie & I left before Louise. We followed the road out of St Foy, but were concerned for awhile because we saw no signs. Finally as we got into a more rural area we saw the camino signs. It was a pleasant sunny day for walking. We saw vineyards and chateaus along the way. After 20 km (622 km total) we reached Pellegrue and went to the Mairie to get the key to the municipal refuge. The friendly woman at the Mairie took our money, gave us the key and stamped our credential. At first she accidently used the Mairie stamp on Mary s and mine credential. So we got two stamps.

Louise arrived later. We washed clothes, went to a supermarket on the outskirts of town and later had pizza from a food truck parked on the square. We ate at a picnic table in the covered square.

September 28, 2017 We walked to St Ferme, hoping for coffee. We did find a bakery and bought the last of their pastries. While eating in the park next to the church and Mairie, 3 French people drove up and asked us about the camino. They were volunteers who took care of camino matters in the area and were looking for our input. I think they were a little surprised to find three Americans.

We continued on the rest of the 14 km (636 km total) to Coutures. No one was at the gite when we arrived, but after about an hour a friend of the owner arrived to clean. She let us in and allowed us to get settled. Later the owner, Rose, arrived and prepared us dinner. We had a great dinner of potatoes, meat, and wine, and ice cream.
