November 12, 1983 I arrived at the Mexico City airport at 2:30 AM. Stayed in the airport until I could book an evening PANAM flight to Guatemala City. Then went sightseeing at Chapultepec Park. Many people jogging and exercising in the park. The hotdog I tried I spat out, and dumped the balance in a rubbish bin. Must have been real dog. Later toured the zoo and the museum of anthropology. The subway was very cheap, one peso got you all the way across the city. The day was warm and clear.
I went to a bus station to inquire about buses between Guatemala and Mexico City, but no one spoke English. A hippie looking French man helped me out. He was leaving the country because his visa was expiring.
