November 15, 1983 After a leisurely tour of the town, I took a very scenic and hectic trip to Lake Atitlan. The weather was beautiful at the lake resort and the atmosphere very relaxed. Although a number of the nicer accommodations were expensive, I found a clean room for $2.00 a day in Panachula. Panachula is the main resort town on the lake. There were many young Europeans and North Americans in the area. That night I attended a showing of the film "Tess".
