November 22, 1983 Took an early bus to Tuxla, then a first class bus to Oaxaca. Oaxaca is a fine colonial city with a nice friendly atmosphere.
November 23, 1983 Saw the ruins of Monte Alban. Many of the locals were trying to sell junk as artifacts. Had lunch with a Spanish student, Nicole, who had studied at Antigua. Saw a couple of museums and bought a couple blankets. The relaxing main square of Oaxaca was surrounded by friendly outdoor cafes.
