Nepal 2008 - Gorkha

Photo: Hanuman, the monkey god

December 7, 2008 Took a bus to Gorkha, the old capital of Nepal. Gorkha Durbar, the main site there, is an old palace, fort and temple. Many Nepalis travel there to make a sacrifice. I saw two goats sacrificed there.

Though I had a great view from the Gorkha lodge where I stayed, they ran out of water which made the stay somewhat uncomfortable. The next morning I took a bus to Kathmandu. The previous day I had been sold a ticket, which had the license plate of the bus I was to take. Soon after I got on the bus I was told it was not the right one. I then found another bus, with the same license plate, that was my bus to Kathmandu.
