December 9-12, 2008 I took it easy in Kathmandu and got ready for a short trek in the Helambu area northeast of Kathmandu.
On the 12th I took a bus to Sundarijal, where I started trekking about 9 AM. Walked for awhile with a large group of Nepali teachers and teenage students on an outing. Eventually got to Chipling where I stayed at lodge with Newcastle, England man and his porter and guide.
December 13, 2008 Soon after going through Golphu, I met Brad and Osa from Sydney, Australia. Following lunch in Kutumsang, the owner of a Mangengoth lodge, walked with us to ensure that we stayed in her lodge. Which we did, although it was quite cold there. We all had Dal Bhat for dinner.
