Wednesday, June 1, 1988 Bernie and I tried running up the hill In the early morning. It was very difficult, because I could not get enough air. We had breakfast at an expensive gringo place. Yogurt, fruit, granola, and coffee for a dollar. I bought some lightweight pants for $8.00. We washed clothes and dried out our tent.
News clipping
We met an Indian man who had been travelling around the world by bicycle since 1982. In 1991 a friend of ours from New York sent Rick the newspaper clipping (left) of our Indian friend, who was still biking.
In the afternoon we saw the interesting local market. We met a local furniture maker and visited with him in his shop. We then saw Julio In his artisan's shop and later had dinner with he and his fiance at a very good fish restaurant.
