Sep 22,1985 At 6:00 AM we left by bus for the Mineralniye Vodi airport. At the airport Igor took a few of us to a mostly empty ice cream parlor. A few months before it had been a packed bar. This was one more sign of Gorbachev's war against alcoholism.
Upon arrival in Moscow, we had a long wait for luggage in the Moscow domestic airport. After checking into the Sport Hotel, we were taken to the Moscow Circus. The performances of bears playing ice hockey, poodles, magicians, swimmers, jugglers, etc were all great!
