July 1, 2001 I left the hotel and 6 AM to take the metro to the bus station. There were thousands of youth on the street going home after partying all night. I took the bus to Granada. The Almohada Hospedaje had room at a very reasonable $9 a day.
The pension had a kitchen for residents to share. Others staying there included Jennifer from New York, Anna from San Francisco, and Hans from Sweden. Many residents had been there for days or weeks and were taking Spanish lessons.
The next morning I went to the Alhambra and toured the site. It was overcrowded with large tour groups. Next to the Alhambra are very interesting Muslim and Gypsy neighborhoods.
