On an overcast morning we hiked muddy trails for the first few hours. Occasionally there were low wooden bridges over the wet swampy parts. Other times we had to hop from the tops of buttongrass plants as those were the only dry spots. Eventually the sun came out and was a beautiful day. From buttongrass plains to pine forests and rainforest, the landscape was extremely varied. We stayed at Old Pelion Hut.
