Australia/New Zealand 1989 - Milford Track, New Zealand

Sandflys were very bad. They are tiny flies but their bites leave big itchy welts. They only bite stationary targets during daylight. The next few days were very pleasant and surprisingly dry. The Track was too easy and the huts were too posh. The huts featured gas cooking rings, running water, and flush toilets. Part of the wide trail had been cleared by a weed eater.
