April 8, 1993 Luba showed me a number of shops in the morning before work. I am supposed to register with police within 48 hours of arrival. This is all very strange and I don't understand, but because the previous guy who had my apartment never registered, they must track him down and make him register before they can register me. So I am now illegally in the country. But the people at BG Plan say "No problem", so I don't worry.

At BG Plan I talked to Monika (opera singer), Ogi (lawyer), and Stefan (doctor) about various topics. Monika, as an opera singer, has travelled extensively and speaks very good English. In the afternoon we went to a meeting on computer software and hardware. Got a haircut. Food is very good and reasonable. People are very friendly. Telephones are a mess, I get many wrong numbers. Someone called this nite asking for the Yugoslav Embassy.
