April 10, 1993 I sleep to 9:30. Sasha and Albena pick me up at 10:30. At the office a man parks our car, then joins us for coffee in the bar. Constantine is a former European boxing champion and an honorable citizen of Rapid City. He had been to Rapid City as coach of Bulgarian boxing team. He remembered Mayor Art LaCroix, who had givien him the keys to the city. I spent most of the day with Albena, Krasimir, Sasha, and Ogi going over par policies, policy loans, and other concepts. Never talked to Plamen.

April 11, 1993 I sleep late. Plamen D. doesn't call like he said he would, but thats OK. I walk downtown to the gold dome church, where it is Palm Sunday. Many candles, palms, and people.
April 12, 1993 I go to CDC office. I have short meetings with Plamen D. and John Gardella. They see no problem in television interview. Albena takes me to new office. Later there is the meeting with Plamen M., Elli, and Ogi. We agree to work on reserve system. That nite I write my interview questions and answers.
Sometimes I would watch Bulgarian TV, though I had no idea what they were saying. What was funny to me was that when Bulgarian reporters interviewed people, the reporters would shake their heads back and forth, instead of up and down as Western reporters do. In Bulgaria, shaking your head back and forth was a way to say yes, opposite of up and down as in Western countries.
