Bulgaria & Eastern Europe 1993 - Zilina, Slovakia

June 17, 1993 Stayed at the chateau, hiking during the day and enjoying hospitality of couple who ran the place. It only cost $2.50 a night and meals were under $2.00. Also staying there were a young couple (women spoke English) and a group of kids. The scenery was really beautiful and varied. Much pine forest and waterfalls. Rain was heavy at times.

My last night there I shared the room with three men who hiked with large quantities of beer and other alcohol. The fattest one got up at 5 AM to drink another beer, and then go back to sleep.

June 19, 1993 Returned to Zilina, saw a museum in old castle. It had very interesting wire art that was characteristic of the region.

Took a nite train to Prague, and shared a compartment with 5 teenage boys from Prague that played on a baseball team. They drank beer and made a lot of noise.
