About 6:30 AM we rolled into Sofia. I woke up and recognized the statutes of Cyril and Methodius outside the library. It was not yet light when the bus pulled into the station. I had considered taking a taxi to the apartment, but others on the bus were walking and I knew the way, only a short walk. After a few blocks I was attacked (see location 6 on map) and almost robbed. Afterwards, I talked to Josey at CDC and a few BG Plan employees about the incident, but did not talk to the police.
