Bolivia & Peru 1997 - Lake Titicaca, Bolivia

Photo: Sacred Inca Rock, Island of the Sun

Wednesday, May 28, 1997 We get up early for the boat tour of the Islands of the Sun and Moon. The boat left about 8:30 AM from the port with about 20 passengers. Besides us there were a number of Israelis, French, Suisse, a New Mexican, and other foreigners. The surprisingly comfortable boat was covered, had cushions on the seats, two US boat motors, and plenty of gas. It took two hours to reach the north side of the Island of the Sun.

There we saw a museum and then walked to the Sacred Rock. Along the way Rick was attacked by a cow, and had his trousers torn in the fracas. On the way back to the boat, an overpowering urge caused Bernie to take a dip in the waters of Lake Titicaca.
