Tuesday, June 3, 1997 We were up at 5:00 AM and were on the trail by 5:40. Most of the other hikers were on the trail before us. Josh got to Intipunku first and I got there by 6:50. The sun did not come up on Machu Picchu until about 7:00. After breakfast and coffee we went down, about the last to leave Intipunku.
As we entered Machu Picchu, we were met by Rick and Jan. Rick was sick from something he ate or drank the day before. Bernie, Josh and I climbed up Huayna Picchu.
