March 21, 2014 A cool day for walking, with a little rain. It was easy to follow the GR65 markings. Whenever you reached a junction, the right way would have the white and red stripes, and the wrong way was marked with a red and white cross like an "X".
I stayed at the Two Pelerins gite in La Villeret d'Apchier. The manager, Mardine, invited me, the only pelerine, to dinner with her family. She had a son and two daughters. The children went to school in Le Puy and stayed there during the week. We had soup, salmon, potatoes and a cheese plate for dessert.

March 22, 2014 The rain was heavy at times in the morning. I put on my gaiters, plastic bags over my socks and used the tarp over my rain clothes. I was able to stay warm and dry.
Later, following a path in the woods, I took a wrong turn and was briefly lost. Two trees that had fallen across the path was my undoing. Later I got to Aumont Aubrac and found the Gite Faisant at the same time a man was delivering some things to the locked gite. We called the owner, Annie, to work out the stay details.
I broke the coffee carife when the sink faucet came loose from the water pipe. It was a nice place to stay. Though I talked to Annie on the phone a couple times, I did not meet her and did not get the gite stamp for my credencial.
Many French villages that I pass through have a town government building or a Marie. The Marie usually has a tourist office, a drinking water faucet, and clean public restrooms.

March 23, 2014 It was another cool day and a dusting of snow was left from the night before. Early on, I encountered two friendly horses. In the afternoon as I was crossing a bridge, there was some sleet.
I stayed at a gite in Nasbinals with a french man who had a large cart he was pulling. He also had a backpack that he carried. He was the first pilgrim I had met so far.
I had dinner at a local restaurant and enjoyed the local dish of potatoes, cheese and garlic. It was the consistency of bread dough and was delicious.
