Photo: Couvent de Malet, St Come d'Olt
March 24, 2014 At night it had snowed several inches. Rather than walk the chemin path I stayed on the plowed road. Luckily there were few cars. One car was in a drift in the road. The altitude in the Nasbinals area was over 4,000'. After walking 10 km I started to lose altitude and saw less snow. Eventually I reached St Come d'Olt, an elevation of 1,300', and checked into the convent there.
I shared a room with a 28 year old German, Sebastion. He had been there a few days trying to recover from an ankle injury. I attended the Vespers service with nuns. The dinner was shared with others there including frenchmen Noel, Patrick (from Dijon), Olivier(from Leon), Jean Batiste (from Paris), and Marina (german).
