Village of Cirauqui
November 17, 2019 I got started about 7:45, after the hostel breakfast. After about an hour I caught up with the 2 Mallorca Spanish women. They started the same day as I from St Jean Pied du Port, and they start each day around 7 AM when it is dark. They told me they stayed in the municipal albergue, but the Koreans snored all night. They will try to avoid them in the future.
It only sprinkled a little bit. I was looking for a place to stop for a coffee, but choices were limited on Sunday. After 18 km I found a little bakery that had coffee in Villatuerta. Soon I got to Estella and checked into hostel.
I did this walk 5 years ago and then everyone had guidebooks. But now no one does, except on their smartphone. Usually they use an app or website, and then use Google maps or maps.me to follow the path. Little need for a map as the route is very well signed for the pilgrim.
The hostel was very nice and I was the only one there. Had a walk around the town, but not much happening on a Sunday. I went for dinner at Mundo, a bar/restaurant run by 2 Dutch women.
