Camino de Santiago: Portomarin to Santiago

Flooded path

December 14, 2019 In the morning the kitchen was a mess. I helped Raul, Spanish man, to clean up after some late night partiers. I later learned the partiers were Ben, Steve from Canada and another French guy.

Steve, Jacob, Chan & I got an early start on an overcast morning. In late morning it began to rain. We got to the albergue in Palais del Rey about 2:30. I carried Laura's staff but did not see her. The bunk beds were in pods, each with a light, power source, and a shelf. Nice to get out of rain. Most of the pilgrims from last few nights were there.

December 15, 2019 It was raining when I started. Had a croissant just out of oven for breakfast at a bakery. Hardly saw anyone else until I got to Melide. So much rain and water flooding the trails and streams. Still did not see Laura. I stayed at a nice albergue in Melide and was the only one there for the night.
