December 16, 2019 I left about 7:45 in the dark. After about 45 minutes, but still dark, I came to a flooded stream and waded across in my sandals with a flashlight and Laura's stick to help the way. Much rain all day. I stopped at a bar for a coffee and the older woman serving me commented that it was the most rainy year that she remembers. I got to Arzua before noon. It seemed that only the municipal albergue was open. I checked in about 1:30 and was the only one. After eating a light dinner, I found that Irish Kate had also checked in.
It was good to see her again and visit over a bottle of white wine. When Canadian Steve was injured she spent 3 days with him in Leon to help with the treatment/translating. Then she walked from there, doing many 30+ km days.

December 17, 2019 - I left very early at 7 AM in a thick fog. Passed thru a number of small villages, but nothing open. I did find a bar (and coffee) open by luck as I had briefly left the trail. Passed 3 Koreans on their final day to Santiago, 40 km for them today if they make it.
Got to O' Pedrouzo by noon. A woman came to check me into the apartment just before 1 PM. A couple of Spanish men had a bedroom as well. We shared a bathroom and living area. Really nice for 20 Euros. Heard from Laura by email. I think Jacob had seen her in Santiago and gave her my email. We arranged a meeting for the next day.
