May 11, 1979 Darko took me to see several museums, within a short time frame as we did a whirlwind tour of each. The best were the ethnographic and the primitive art museum. The primitive art paintings were very bright and colorful, many were of peasant village scenes painted on glass.
Yada teaches at a local school. She is a Catholic but attends mass in a small out of the way parish. As a teacher she is not allowed to attend church or practice religion. Over the recent Easter she took her visiting aunt to a service at the impressive downtown Zagreb cathedral. During the service she was seen and recognized by a Communist teacher at her school. The following school day the teacher asked her what she was doing there. His excuse was he liked to hear what the priest said during the homily. Yada feared that he might tell her superiors.
