Jun 11, 1979 Fritz went to see the doctor in Altenberge, but still had on the bandage when he returned. Paul goes to school in Billerbeck. Hedwig wore blue jeans that I thought would really shake up Great Aunt Mary.
Hedwig and both Heinrichs showed me many sights today. We saw a castle where university students stay and work on restoring antiques. The antiques were interesting but expensive. We went to a quarry where sandstone is cut and shaped.
We visited Heinrichs sister Agnes and his cousin Joseph. Josephs brother, Heinz, had visited us in the US in the mid 1960 s. All of the relatives raised hogs and were proud of their operation. The houses were much nicer and a higher living standard than in the USA.
Hedwigs mother was in the hospital in very bad shape. That evening two neighbors, a doctor and Hedwig (another one) came to translate. We drank much wine from Heinrichs large supply.
