Nepal 2008 - Trekking: Lodge Stays

In many villages, cities, homes and lodges water was stored in large plastic containers such as this one. At high, cold altitudes, such as Gorak Shep, pieces of ice would float in the containers. At high altitudes, when it was important to drink more liquid, the icy cold water was not an inviting drink, and even less so to take a shower or bath in.

Most all toilets were of this variety. Enough said.

After using the toilet, you were expected to flush the toilet with water from the open container next to the toilet.
