November 3, 2008 Now that I was getting into much higher altitudes, I was not covering a great deal of distance and thought it wise to walk slowly. By mid-morning I got to Pheriche and visited the high altitude medical facility there that was staffed in part by American doctors. They had much helpful information.
From Pheriche I headed up the long, mostly flat valley, to the last up climb to Dughla. At the Yak lodge there, had lunch. I spent most of the afternoon killing time reading and trying to stay warm.
