November 5, 2008 I was up early and left the lodge at 6 AM to climb Kala Patthar. In the early daylight, I saw other trekkers ahead of me who had started in the dark. It took about an hour and a half to walk to the top, an altitude of over 18000 feet.
The view was spectacular from Kala Patthar on the clear cold morning. I did not stay up long and returned to the lodge, getting there about 8:15 AM.
