Oct 2, 1993 We joined Neila McCabe, a school teacher from Nova Scotia and her porter Sarish for the hike to Muktinath. As we gained altitude, the scenery became more rugged and open. We looked north to the restricted area of Mustang. At Muktinath we stayed in a marginal hotel with mud floors, but great food. Two Nepalese engineers told us of their years in Catholic school in Kathmandu.
We visit the Hindu temple with the 108 water spouts. Hindu's from India and Nepal trek to this holy site. The Buddhist temple was closed.
