Nepal 1993 - Kopan Monastery

Photo: Photo: Monks chanting

The Tibetan Lama did not speak english, and a monk translated for him. Though it was a meditation course, the teachers emphasized Buddhism frequently. On about the last day, a number of the American and European students renounced their Christian religion and decided they would become Buddhist. Nita & I thought that once they got back to Kathmandu and had a couple of beers they would regret their impulsive decision.

It was an great time, and the Buddhist teachers, monks and the course participants were enjoyable and interesting. A number of us would do yoga on the rooftop in the early morning before 6 AM tea.
