Friday, June 17, 1988 It was a long climb to get to Punta Union, but what a fantastic view once we got there! There we met a Peruvian, a mad Englishman, and porters and burros. Along the way down we met several other groups of hikers and climbers. For a campsite we found a nice spot in some small trees overlooking the marshy valley below. Rick tried to sleep out, but it was too cold. Water froze inside the tent.
