Wednesday, June 22, 1988 Bernie and I got up and ran. Rick had a cold. After doing a little laundry, we went to breakfast. The yogurt was the best I ever had. We took a bus to Chancos for the hot springs. The hot cave we went into was like a sauna. When I first opened the wood door that led into the small grotto, I thought I was peering into Hell!
Next we went to Acopampa for a lunch of cuy (guinea pig) and potatoes. The potatoes were good. After packing for bus ride to Lima, we went to Los Payas for final Huaraz meal. I had a great guacamole chicken salad with banana juice, on the street we had churros, very tasty. The bus left at 10 PM and soon broke down.
