About an hour out of Mestia the driver stopped the van. He spent the next 90 minutes fixing the brakes. Soon after he finished, Lonya discovered that he had left his passport in Mestia. While he and the driver went to retrieve the document, we had a light tea along the side of the road.
Eventually we reached Nacra, despite a very rough rocky road. We camped on the front porch of a large wood lodge. The Georgian champagne was very much enjoyed. That night it rained as we slept under the porch roof.
