A typical breakfast in Portugal was a roll and an espresso. Food and drink could be purchased in restaurants, cafes, and bars. Usually there were two or three levels of prices depending on service. The least expensive was takeaway, the next was to stand and consume the item at a counter, and the most costly was to sit at a table.
That night I watched the UEFA cup match on TV. Liverpool defeated the Spanish competitor by 5-4 in overtime.
