May 27, 2001 I left at 7:00 AM and stopped at Portelo for coffee and a croissant. While I was eating, the Puerto Rican from the refugio joined me. We walked together most of the rest of the day. We had a bocadilla in Cebreiro then walked on a few miles. I decided to stay at Alto de Poio, a roadside bar, that had a few bunks. Others were Yves and Jacqueline, an older French couple, and a French biker.
I walked about 20 miles. I was getting a few blisters on my toes. My blisters were not as bad as others I had seen. Some of the blister stories were rather gruesome.
