June 22, 2001 The GR11 mostly followed roads today, and it was fairly easy. I found a secluded campsite just outside the village of Parzan.

June 23, 2001 I bought a few groceries at a small grocery store in Parzan, then headed up to the Collada de Pietramula. The views of the Valle de Ordesa were excellent. At the Refugio de Pineta I asked about the steep trail that I planned on climbing tomorrow. They warned me that many large trees were down and that snow near the top required an ice ax and crampons. Since I had neither an ax or crampons, I decided to end my walk there. That night I enjoyed a communal meal at the refugio.
