South America 2007 - Argentina Lake District

March 4, 2007 The Sunday morning hike to Refugio Jakob involved another difficult descent. Upon arrival the female hut manager gave each of us an air cheek kiss. We walked to a nearby lake at the base of a small glacier and had lunch. Luick walked all the way out of the park, as he had to go to work the next day. I camped near a bridge.

On Monday morning it took about 2 hours to reach highway 79 and then another 1 hours to Colonial Suiza, a tourist resort that was mostly shut down for the season. I took the local bus back to Bariloche and was joined by about a dozen Israelis.
