The next day I took a bus to La Cumbre, north of Cordoba a few hours by bus. I stayed in a hostel there with several Swiss and an East German woman. I did one hike near the town in the afternoon. At night, Christian, the manager had a barbeque for everyone, mostly meat and a little salad.
Mountain overlooking Capilla del Monte
April 1, 2007 I took the local Sunday morning bus to Capilla del Monte to climb Cerro Uritorco. The privately owned mountain had a woman attendant that collected a $3 fee and had the discretion to refuse admission to anyone 55 and older. I witnessed a loud verbal fight between the attendant and a family that included an older woman. It was an easy hike, though long, with many good views. I took an afternoon bus back to La Cumbre.
