The last day of the trek was an easy hike to a village, where we got a truck ride to Carolina in the afternoon. The next day we had breakfast at Elisa s mothers house. Elisa, a black woman, is Piets companion and runs a boarding house in Quito. We were to go to the coast, but no trains were going that direction so we returned to Quito.
